A standard dump truck is a vehicle that unloads its cargo automatically through hydraulic or mechanical lifting. It is also known as a tipper truck. It consists of a vehicle chassis, a hydraulic lifting mechanism, a cargo box, and a power take-off device.
The cargo box of a standard dump truck can be tilted either rearward or sideways. The tilting is controlled by a control system that moves the piston rod. Rearward tilting is more common, where the piston rod pushes the cargo box to tilt. Some models offer bidirectional tilting.
Standard dump trucks are frequently used in civil engineering projects in conjunction with other construction machinery such as excavators, loaders, and belt conveyors, forming a loading, transporting, and unloading production line for the handling and transportation of earth, sand, gravel, and other bulk materials.
