Mini excavators (also known as micro/compact excavators) typically refer to excavators with a total weight of less than 6 tons. Their core advantages are their small size, flexibility, low ground pressure, and suitability for confined spaces. They are widely used in municipal engineering, landscaping, interior decoration, and other applications. Zero-tail swing/short-tail swing and retractable tracks are common design features, and electrification and intelligent technologies are rapidly being adopted.

Definition: The overall operating weight of the machine is < 6 tons, the bucket capacity is 0.016-0.25 m³, and the overall width is generally ≤ 1.3 m, allowing it to pass through narrow passages (such as yard gates and corridors).

Main classifications (by weight):

Ultra-mini: < 1 ton, width ≤ 0.8m, suitable for fine work indoors/in courtyards, such as the Hitachi EX8 and Bobcat E10z.

Mini: 1-3 tons, bucket capacity 0.04-0.12 m³, the main force in municipal/landscaping work, such as the Caterpillar 301.7 CR and Yanmar ViO27-6.
